Dr. Joseph A Leonetti

Serving the Paoli and Exton communities since 1987

Joseph A. Leonetti was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and following graduation he attended Tufts New England School of Dental Medicine. After earning his DMD degree, Dr. Leonetti completed a Fellowship in Dental Anesthesia at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the New York University/ Bellevue Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Leonetti then entered into private practice in 1983.

Dr. Leonetti is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Leonetti is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology. He has also achieved Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Leonetti served as President of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID).

Dr. Leonetti lectures nationally and internationally on Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry and serves as faculty director for numerous dental implant training programs. He is also author of numerous peer review articles and contributing section author for multiple textbooks. Dr. Leonetti has been awarded peer recognition in the annual Top Doc publications by both Philly Magazine and Main Line Today. In 2022, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) recognized Dr. Leonetti as a recipient of the National Honored Fellow Award.

Dr. Leonetti and his wife Jean live in Malvern, Pa. and have three children, Samantha, Michael, and Joseph. Dr. Leonetti has many interests outside of oral surgery. His hobbies include golfing, family travel, coaching, and playing drums.
